What's new

What's changed lately, and what it means for you.

Changes worth knowing about, newest first. Smaller fixes and tidying aren't listed — this is the things that change what you can do.

v3.5.0 — Sharing without the detours

Share from the Sharing Center. Every list and log now carries a picker listing the circles it isn't already in, so opening a list or a circle first is no longer the price of sharing something. The page also became a card layout that uses the width of a large screen instead of one item per line.

Shared gift logs are findable. Logs shared with you now appear in the Sharing Center and on the circle's page. Previously the only way to reach one was to be sent the link.

Correct and move log entries. Everything on a gift log entry can be edited after you create it — the date, the hiding place, who it's for — and an entry can be moved to a different log. Useful when you buy something early and only later decide which occasion it's for.

Autocomplete in the log. Who it's for, Occasion and Hiding place now suggest what you've typed before, across all your logs, so the same people stop arriving under three different spellings.

Reservations can log themselves. Turn it on in Profile → Gift log and anything you claim from someone's list is written into a log you choose, at Still shopping. Release a reservation that's been logged and the site asks what to do with the entry rather than guessing.

v3.4.0 — Knowing what's left to do

Gift status. Log entries now move through Still shopping, Ordered, Delivered, Wrapped, Given, changeable straight from the row, and the log filters by status. In December the useful question isn't what you've bought, it's what still needs doing.

v3.3.0 — Where did I put it?

Hiding places. A gift log entry can record where you stashed the present. It's never shown to anyone else, on any screen, including a log you've shared — where a present is hidden is the fastest way to spoil a surprise.

The gift log was also rewritten throughout to describe what it's actually for: tracking what you've bought in the run-up to an occasion, and remembering it next year.

v3.2.0 — Fairer draws, calmer circles

Draw exclusions, so partners who live together don't draw each other, and a host option to receive the full draw — off by default, because a host who sees the whole draw can't be surprised by their own gift.

Co-hosts. A circle no longer depends on one person being available. Hosts can promote another member, and step down as long as someone else is hosting.

Clearer invitations. Declined and expired invitations are now shown to hosts, so an invitation that went nowhere doesn't look like it was never sent, and can be resent.

v3.0.0 — The gift log

A private record of what you've bought and who it's for, with the option to share a log with a circle once the surprises are out.

v2.0.0 — Family profiles

Lists for children who don't have accounts, shared guardianship so more than one adult can manage them, and an explicit notice whenever a child's list is about to be shared.

v1.0.0 — First circle

Wish lists, circles, invitations, and surprise protection: the promise that the person whose list it is never sees what's been claimed on it.
