Family and child profiles
Making lists for a child who has no account, and sharing them safely.
Children get the most presents and are least able to keep a wish list. A family profile lets you keep one for them without creating them a login.
Making a profile
Go to Family and add someone. A display name is all that's needed. You can add a birthday as month and day — no year, because the site has no reason to know a child's age.
Lists for a child
Make a list as usual and it can belong to that profile rather than to you. When a circle sees it, it's labelled For {name} so there's no confusion about who the gifts are for.
Guardians
More than one adult can look after a profile. Add another guardian and they can manage the profile and its lists too — useful when two parents, or a parent and a grandparent, are both buying.
Guardians are shown as tags on the profile. Removing one takes away their access but doesn't touch the profile or its lists.
Sharing a child's list
Sharing works exactly as it does for your own lists, with one addition: before you share, the site says plainly that everyone in that circle will be able to see the child's name and the gifts on the list. It's a note rather than a warning — usually that's exactly what you want — but it's said out loud rather than assumed, on every screen that can share.
Deleting a profile
Deleting a profile removes it and its lists. If another guardian is still attached, the profile survives for them — your own account being deleted doesn't take away a child that somebody else is also looking after.
